The WCC XXXIX has now been completed, and ivelostmysparky 's Catfish Crusaders have been crowned World Club Cup Champions for the 2nd time beating Reigning Champions, Safe Hands Koodoo Rand Diamond Geezers 28 - 3 at the Cove Stadium in New Zealand.

The Geezers final did not start well, losing USA NT Player Teina Amosa in the 5th minute, and with him they may have lost a bit of self control, as it was only 4 penalties that separated both teams at the half.

However when Fullback Heath Mallard crossed the try line in the 63rd minute, the fat lady started to sing, and the rest as they say is history

Congratulations to all the other managers who took out the trophies in the groups.....some very fine, well contested efforts

Next we have the prestigious "Iorwerth Award" which was created in honour of BR manager and WCC Founder Iorwerth, and it is awarded to the team or teams that we believe have played throughout each season's competition with the commitment, passion and spirit, that was originally intended for the WCC, when the competition idea was conceived.

This season the Trophy goes to Catfish Crusaders manager ivelostmysparky who has pulled off a remarkable finals series to take their 2nd crown...and we are glad to have them in the WCC

So I am proud to announce this season's Iorwerth Award goes to;

Catfish Crusaders: Manager ivelostmysparky

As mentioned a few seasons ago, I decided to introduce the WCC RFS Sportsman Award, in honour of one of the WCC Founders manager RFS.

For a long time I have been the face of the WCC, but there was work and reputation that preceded me and I have been proud to evolve and grow the comp since the early days, but RFS & Iorwerth were the managers who started the journey.

The Trophy contains a Shield and RFS's Basingwerk RFC "Well Warriors" Logo.

This season the Trophy goes to Aberystwyth Wanderers manager fatman who has also been with us for many seasons, in varying levels of the comp, but always there, always competing.....and always ready for the next season.....he and many like him are the reasons the WCC has been the no.1 comp for many seasons. He stunning run in the Cup this season, knocking off some great teams including mikemike778 's 5 times Champions Team Frodsham Koala Bears, is a feat in itself

Aberystwyth Wanderers - Manager: fatman
