The WCC XXXX has now been completed, and donkeysaints Auckland Katipos R.F.C. have been crowned World Club Cup Champions for the 1st time beating 1st time Finalists, The Corsairs, managed by eddbutt 26 - 21 at the Great Web Stadium in New Zealand.

In a reasonanbly evenly matched up final, the Corsairs hit the scoreboard early in the 5th minute, but then the Kapitos steadied and really were in control for the rest of the game, in fact the last points were scored in the 53rd minute, with a constant tug of war finishing off the game.

Next we have the prestigious "Iorwerth Award" which was created in honour of BR manager and WCC Founder Iorwerth, and it is awarded to the team or teams that we believe have played throughout each season's competition with the commitment, passion and spirit, that was originally intended for the WCC, when the competition idea was conceived.

This season the Trophy goes to Nafta manager MrZeta who has been a WCC regular since at least Season 15, and had a good run in the plate this season, but came away without a trophy. He, and managers like him are the reason the comp has been successful .......for so long

So I am proud to announce this season's Iorwerth Award goes to;

WCC XXXX IORWERTH AWARD
Nafta: Manager: MrZeta

As mentioned a few seasons ago, I decided to introduce the WCC RFS Sportsman Award, in honour of one of the WCC Founders manager RFS.

For a long time I have been the face of the WCC, but there was work and reputation that preceded me and I have been proud to evolve and grow the comp since the early days, but RFS & Iorwerth were the managers who started the journey.

The Trophy contains a Shield and RFS's Basingwerk RFC "Well Warriors" Logo.

This season the Trophy goes to Auckland Katipos R.F.C. Manager donkeysaint, who has also been with us for many seasons, in varying levels of the comp, in which he has won almost every trophy, right down from the Resin...which is a great achievement, culminating in winng the Cup this season.

He and many like him are the reasons the WCC has been the no.1 comp for many seasons.
